Graduating from The Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium and renowned for producing some of fashions greatest innovators, Margiela has been pushing the boundaries of fashion since the early 1980’s.

The Belgian-born designer worked at Jean Paul Gautier before launching his namesake label in 1988. Famously, the designer has never given an interview or been photographed in the media, in order to allow his designs to ‘speak for themselves’.

His creations are renowned for being unconventional – colours are muted as conceptual cuts, fabrics and attention to detail are at the forefront of his designs. Expect sleek classics reworked in a modern way; stylish knitwear is key to the collection, whilst slouchy-cut jeans and high-top trainers complete the off-duty cool look.
